Penticton Adventure Day: Floating, Wine Tasting, Beachside Dinner, Sunset Hike
Free Event
Monday, June 30, 2025 from 10:15 AM to 10:00 PM
IMPORTANT: Due to high water levels in Enderby, we've gone with our "Plan B" for today; we'll be heading to Penticton instead. Please review the updated itinerary.
Join us for a free full day adventure as we float channel, go wine tasting in Naramata, have a beachside dinner at Salty's, and then do a short leisurely hike up Munson Mountain for sunset. Cost of your food at Salty's is your own; we have reservations for 8 people. You must message Josh directly to save your seat at Salty's otherwise seating is first-come first-serve.
Float meeting time is 10:15 am at "Coyote Cruises" in Penticton to inflate your boats — even if you're not renting with them. We highly recommend getting a rental with Coyote Cruises, as they also have a taxi option back to the start of the float, and provide the necessary safety gear. If you're bringing your own floatie, all forms are acceptable now that we're not doing Enderby, but you do need to have a lifejacket, and water safety kit that includes a flashlight, whistle, rope.
If you haven't verified your online account on HikeTheOkanagan.com or AdventureKelowna.com please show up at 10:00 am to sign the pen and paper waiver with Josh — not Coyote Cruises — they have their own separate waiver if you're renting from them.
Float time begins exactly at 11:00 AM now (instead of 11:30 am). No sooner, no later. Float duration could be anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on the speed of the channel that day.
Prepare for a long day in the sun with your own floaty, pump, towel, ample water, snacks, umbrella, swimsuit, etc. Absolutely no alcohol. You assume all liability and risk. The organizers of the activity are not guides and do not have first aid. Under no circumstances should you tie different floaties together to make a raft.
After the float, we'll deflate and taxi or return-drive with Coyote Cruises back to the launch point. Then, head out to Naramata for a go-with-the-flow self-guided wine tour. Optionally, just chill at the beach in Penticton if you want to skip this.
Dinner at Salty's restaurant for 6pm for about 1.5 hours, followed by a sunset hike up Munson Mountain. This hike is incredibly short (less than 1 km) and kid-friendly to a beautiful viewpoint over the valley.
